The post-war period has been a boom time for writers of fantasy, with sales of the genre outstripping all other forms of fiction. All the writers included in this collection are international best sellers, with C.S. Lewis clocking up a monumental 120 million, Kenneth Grahame coming in with 25 million, and Philip Pullman, a relative new-comer to the scene, achieving 15 million.
