"Intra-operative awareness": a term referring to the inadvertent state of consciousness during surgery that one endures when anesthetics have failed to function properly. The experience of hearing and feeling one´s own invasive surgery, being cut open and having one´s organs handled and shifted while powerless to move or communicate, is enough to drive a person to insanity. And that´s precisely what happened to a young boy years ago. Now, after the desperate Dr. Jae-yu allows a colleague to perform emergency surgery on his wife only to see his love die on the operating table, he suspects foul play--and a test showing foreign substances in her body confirms it. Can Dr. Jae-yu uncover the incognito murderer--who may be a certain traumatized young boy, grown up and unhinged--before it´s too late?
