While Paul McCartney is in New York to play a series of sold-out concerts with Wings, the city is buzzing with speculation of a Beatles' reunion. But even promoters' offers of outlandish sums of money cannot penetrate John Lennon's self-imposed isolation from the world.

So six silent years after the Beatles' acrimonious split, Paul arrives unexpectedly at John's apartment. Initially distant and hostile, John is wary of his old friend. But gradually, as their bittersweet day of hurt, anger and humor unfolds, they confront the differences and get back to where they once belonged-two friends from Liverpool.

It is then in the spirit of renewed togetherness, that they impulsively prepare to give New York the musical shock of all time...
