John Power (Richard Harris) is the czar of the local trailer community called "travelers" and has settled into a comfortable life with a big house, a big car, and the awe of the locals in the small Irish town. Trojan Eddie (Stephen Rea) has worked for Power since his release from prison and dreams of the day when he can go into business for himself.

Power becomes obsessed with Kathleen (Aislin McGuckin), a young traveler girl, and proposes marriage. On the night of their wedding, Kathleen runs off with Power´s nephew and 11,000 pounds, a gift from the wedding guests. Eddie helps them escape, embroiling himself in the mayhem that follows.

In Trojan Eddie, acclaimed director Gillies MacKinnon and award winning writer Billy Roche create a strange compelling world on the edge of society - where everyone wants something they can´t possibly have.
