Teenage Angst

A story of youth abusing power in the same mold as Dennis Gansel´s BEFORE THE FALL and Jukka-Pekka Siili´s YOUNG GODS , TEENAGE ANGST explores the tribulations of young lads emotionally needing to belong to a group, but failing to foresee the dire consequences of group-think.

On the shores of a deceptively peaceful mountain lake, inside a picturesque castle-cum-boarding school, four bored boys from über-wealthy families create a clique, replete with sexually charged rites and rituals. Desiring to break free from the gilded cage in which their parents have deposited them, they sneak off campus at night to party, skinny dip and play their increasingly dangerous games. The stronger-willed boys lord it over the weaker ones, until really bad things start to happen.

Inspired by Kurt Cobain´s musings on the teen condition as well as Austrian author Robert Musil´s homoerotic novel "The Confusions of Young Törless", Stuber and his writer Holger Jäckle set out to create "a modern-day tale of violence without motive, of adolescents searching for themselves, discovering along the way their longings as well as dependencies."
