Driving a car remains one of the finest experiences of the 20th Century, and in those 1000 years the great car manufacturers have become bywords for speed, luxury, affordability and design from Ford to Ferrari and from MG to McLaren.

The Story Of Motoring, presented by Lord Montagu of Beaulieu, tells the story of the last hundred years by featuring particular cars that represent the different motoring genres of affordability, luxury, design and speed.

This fascinating and informative program features new color footage mixed with unique archive footage to set the scene of the lives and times of people who bought and drove those cars.

The video also considers the future. Will we see electric cars in mass production? Is the future to be dominated by multi-role designs? Or, will in fact the car be viewed by future historians as a peculiarly 20th Century phenomenon?
