Cynical TV director Derek (Beau Bridges) doesn´t suffer fools gladly. As the brains behind Sightings, a series that investigates the paranormal, he´s more interested in soundbytes than spirits.

A young couple in High River, Kansas, Jeff and Pam Mason, contact the show - convinced the 19th century house they´ve moved into is haunted. With evidence of levitating toys, moving objects and Jeff´s sinister visions, the Sightings crew move in. Derek senses a good story. Allen, his psychic sidekick, believes there is a young girl ghost in the house. Enlisting the help of Jamie Haines, paranormal investigator, the crew piece together its history and trace the original owners back to the last days of slavery. A disturbing theory emerges...supported by Jeff´s dream-inspired sketches and the strange marking on his thigh.
