When Michael Hackett (Stephen Lang) and his wife Elizabeth (JoBeth Williams) find that their life blood - acres and acres of lemon groves - are being threatened by a deadly disease, the possibility of losing their family business puts an added strain on their already fragile marriage. Conflicts between husband and wife, father and sons, brothers and sisters ensue, and the family must find a way to band together to preserve their livelihood...and each other.

Seasons of The Heart:
Prominent book publisher Vivian Levinson Goldstein (Carol Burnett) and her husband Ezra (George Segal) have their lives turned upside down when Vivian´s runaway grandson, David, unexpectedly arrives at their home. Vivian and Ezra´s relationship begins to deteriorate as they argue over Vivian´s drug addict daughter and her abandonment of David, but it is ultimately David who brings the entire family back together and love back into the home.
