Rose´s Song
Budapest, Fall 1944. The Jewish residents of the Hungarian capital helplessly await their tragic fate. But there is one house in the city that defies the horror. To bear the unbearable an extraordinary voice gives strength to the Jews in hiding. The magical voice is that of Imre Rose, the world famous Jewish opera singer, who never leaves his room in the tower, yet every evening his voice resounds from on high. And while he sings the world is not lost.
Rose’s Songs is a touching film but not a sad one. It tells how, even in the shadow of death, people can keep their poise and dignity and their sense of humor. It also says you should believe in miracles, even if his miracle is not the work of divine powers....
