Root Of Evil

After ten years of marriage, Do-il (Kim Jin-guen) and Mi-sook (Shim Hye-jin) decide to adopt when they are unable to conceive. At the orphanage, Mi-sook is drawn to Jin-sung (Moon Woo-bin) a quiet, introverted young boy whose dark and detailed paintings strangely resemble the works of Munch. When Jin-sung moves in, he spends most of his time away from his new family, alone, underneath the dead acacia tree in the backyard. When Mi-sook miraculously becomes pregnant, Jin-sing retreats further into himself and his attachment to the tree grows. The once-dead acacia tree in the backyard mysteriously begins to bloom, and terrible "accidents" begin to occur and threaten to tear the household apart. Is Jin-Sung to blame, or are the events rooted in something far more sinister?
