Rim Of The Canyon

Jake Fargo and his two partners have broken out of prison and are after the ,000 haul that landed them in stir. Gene Autry vows to bring the fugitives to justice and and tracks them to an abandoned mining town. Entering a dilapidated saloon, he meets a lovelorn schoolmarm, Ruth Lambert, who has a morbid fascination with the ghost town. Ruth believes she is in communication with the spirit of Big Tim Hanlon, the deceased mining boss. Gene is skeptical, but when Fargo and his deadly cohorts arrive to reclaim their loot, Gene finds that he will need the help of Hanlon´s "ghost" if he´s going to defeat the desperados.

One of the greatest western heroes to ever grace the screen, Gene Autry´s quick rise to stardom ushered in the era of the singing cowboy. Initially finding success at Mascot and then Republic Pictures, Autry made the move to Columbia soon after his return from service in World War II, tackling similar roles in films with bigger budgets. Rim Of The Canyon pairs Autry with director John English, who was at the helm for the majority of Autry´s Columbia output.
