Matthew Modine (Golden Globe nominee for What the Deaf Man Heard) and Obba Babatunde (Emmy nominee, The Temptations, John Q.) give powerhouse performances in this poignant, unflinching drama with an illuminating message of hope.

Former author Paul Freeman (Modine) teaches creative writing at a local prison, where ex-Black Panther Charles (Babatunde) is a star pupil. Sentenced to life in prison for abetting a homicide, Charles has one dream: to become a father to the son he never met. Only one thing stands in his way: Sharon (Michele Greene, TV´s L.A. Law), the sister of the murdered victim.

With Paul´s help, Charles drafts a letter to Sharon that will change their lives, offering each of them the second chance they desperately need to be redeemed.
