Out Of The Blue - The Story Of The Santa Cruz Surfing Club
In the late 1930s, a small group of students from Los Angeles, attending college in San Jose, began to venture out to the coast to surf the frigid waters along the small beach town of Santa Cruz. Eventually, the town’s youth joined in and The Santa Cruz Surfing Club was formed, complete with a boardhouse and clubhouse. It would remain the center of the beach’s thriving social scene until World War II changed their lives and brought a sudden end to a memorable era in California history.
