Based on the true life experiences of Walter Velasquez, Off The Hook is the powerful story of two aspiring rappers from the South Bronx who try to balance the conflicting demands of friends, responsibility and ambition. When Walter´s best friend and musical partner, Lorenzo, gets sent to jail for dealing drugs, it is Walter and his pregnant girlfriend Narine (who also happens to be Lorenzo´s sister) who stick by him. When Lorenzo gets out of jail, he tries to change his life for the better, though he soon discovers the true struggle of life in the inner city.
