No-Go
Docudrama about IRA in Belfast's Bogside/Creegan areas - begins with British setting up of Northern Ireland in the 1920s "which made niggers out of the Catholic minority" there; mentions the split of the IRA into the Provisional ("Provo") faction, which called for conventional uprising to gain independence, and the Official faction, which was strongly Marxist, and called for uprising to gain independence as a Socialist country - footage of protest in Bogside in January 1972 which somehow turned into a violent confrontation with the British, resulting in 13 deaths - "No Go" stands for the scrawled "No Go Area" on some of the Catholic barricades - the interviewed Irish heavy accents are subtitled in bond white lettering; the British are played by actors.
