Mongo's Back In Town

A hired gunman walks into a hornets nest of trouble in MONGOS BACK IN TOWN.

Contract killer Mongo Nash (Joe Don Baker) is called home by his ruthless brother Mike (Charles Cioffi), who it is soon learned is under surveillance by the cops for counterfeiting. Things are further complicated when Mike is mysteriously murdered, and Mongo is caught between the law - led by a relentless cop (Golden Globe and Emmy Winner Telly Savalas) and a rival gang, who thinks Mongo has the counterfeiting plates. With the help of a naïve, small-town girl (Oscar, Golden Globe and Emmy Winner Sally Field), Mongo begins to unravel a sinister plot with deadly consequences.

Based on the novel by E. Richard Johnson, a former Minnesota State Prison inmate, MONGOS BACK IN TOWN is a taut, suspenseful drama that creates a revealing study of the underworld. The all-star cast is led by Joe Don Baker, and a strong performance by Golden Globe and Emmy Winner Martin Sheen anchors the supporting cast.
