In the World Series, the Dodgers faced the Tampa Bay Rays at a neutral site, the new Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas. The Rays were the only other team with at least 40 wins during the regular season, and their toughness showed during a see-saw affair in the first four games of the Fall Classic. Knotted at two games each, the Dodgers would jump on the Rays early to put away Game 5 and then strike late in Game 6 to lay claim to the Commissioner’s Trophy™ for the seventh time in franchise history.
