On the road at two weeks old, Rooney was performing at 15 months in his parents’ Vaudevillian act. Moving to Hollywood, he quickly became a child star, the lead in 50 silent films as comic strip character Mickey McGuire (1927-33). Signed to MGM’s legendary stable of contract stars in 1934, the spirited and charismatic and iconic career. Citing the thing he loves most as an audience, Rooney has continued to appear on screen and television throughout his 80s.
