Experience the Civil War through Abe Lincoln´s (Sam Waterston) very human eyes, as contends with generals who won´t fight and politicians who scheme to usurp his power. His wife (Mary Tyler Moore) is driven to the edge of madness by the death of their son, and her deteriorating health causes Lincoln great pain. But after a war more ferocious and bloody than anybody had imagined, Lincoln lives just long enough to see his vision realized before his life is tragically cut short by an assassin´s bullet.
