Legends Of The Old West - Vol. 2

Legends of the Old West is a collection of episodes from Stories of the Centurya 1950's syndicated television show that won an Emmy award for the best Western or adventure series of 1954. The serial revolved around a duo of detectives, Matt Clark (Jim Davis) and Frankie Adams (Mary Castle), sent to protect the Southwestern Railroad from evildoers. The detectives worked diligently to guard the train and its passengers from robbery by both Indians and bandits alike.

The episode ideas were taken from 1890's newspaper archives and included some of the most dangerous outlaws who committed the Wild West's most notorious crimes. Notably, each episode starred a different actor, including some well-known celebrities such as veteran Western actors Lee Van Cleef and Slim Pickens. Each week different actors played the part of history's most infamous desperadoes including: Belle Star, Billy the Kid, Chief Crazy Horse, Black Jack Ketchum, Frank and Jesse James, The Younger Brothers, Doc Holliday, and Black Bart.
