Left Of The Dial
The Rise, Fall And Resurrection Of Americas First Liberal Talk Radio Network, Air America Radio.
Directed by Patrick Farrelly and Kate OCallaghan, Left Of The Dial tells the inside story of the turbulent birth of Air America Radio, the nations first liberal talk network. Launched in March 2004 and spearheaded by Al Franken and Janeane Garofolo, the network attempted to go head-to-head against the conservative voices that dominate American talk radio during one of the most divisive election years in recent memory. Less than a month after its launch, the network began to implode amid allegations of financial impropriety and mismanagement.
