Judgment Day

In the depths of space, a giant meteor collides with an asteroid, sending a deadly shower of fragments towards Earth. After a small piece makes impact, the United States Air Force observes that the worst is yet to come a 14 mile long fragment powerful enough to destroy all life on Earth. The military turns to Dr. David Corbett, as his invention, Thor (an explosive device capable of eliminating the meteor), is the only weapon that could prevent this disaster. But deranged religious leader Thomas Payne, who believes that the world is fated for the impending doom, has another plan. Payne and his cult kidnap Corbett to prevent him from using Thor and preventing God´s will. The government is forced to enlist the help of Payne´s archenemy Matthew Reese, a convicted killer, who is the only man who would know Payne´s whereabouts.
