In The Face Of Crime

Marek Gorsky is a cop in the Berlin police department. Hes also the son of Russian Jews who emigrated to Germany a generation ago. To some members of his community, Marek is a musar - a pig - someone viewed as a traitor to his own people and not to be trusted. When Marek and his partner are transferred to the State Bureau of Investigation (LKA) to help track down the notorious Russian gangster Sokolov, his past catches up with him. Ten years ago, Mareks older brother was shot and killed by a rival criminal. For Marek, the hunt for Sokolov runs parallel to the quest for his brothers killer. As a pawn in a mysterious underworld war, betrayed by corrupt LKA officers and treated with suspicion by his German colleagues, Mareks pursuit of Sokolov leads him inescapably toward Misha, owner of the Odessa Restaurant and Mareks brother-in-law. Now, Marek has to choose between his duty as a policeman and his own family.
