In Search Of The Real Frankenstein tells the fascinating account of Johann Konrad Dippel, a brilliant scientist involved in the dark world of alchemy and body snatching. Born in 1673 in the gothic Castle Frankenstein, overlooking Germany´s Rhine Valley, Dippel was the prototypical "mad scientist." Although his pioneering work would later lead to the advent of eclectic shock therapy used in modern medicine, Dippel´s scientific interests soon gave way to darker inquiries, as he began searching for the secret elixir of life. To test his formulas, he dug up fresh corpses from the nearby NiederBeerach cemetery and dragged them to his laboratory in Castle Frankenstein. Did Dippel succeed in his controversial pursuit to reinstate life? And, if not, what caused the local people to drive the scientist out of town?
