One of television's most influential and beloved comedy programs, The Honeymooners first appeared in 1951 as a series of skits on television's Cavalcade of Stars. The Jackie Gleason Show followed on CBS-TV, from 1952-1955 and 1956-1957, featuring Honeymoonersepisodes which were all aired live and not part of the 39 filmed shows from 1955-1956.

For decades, the early Honeymooners live telecasts were lost. Early episodes feature Pert Kelton as Alice and Elaine Stritch as Trixie.
