Hitch-Hiker

Emmett Myers (William Talman), a killer on the run from the police, gets picked up by two men (Edmond O'Brien, Frank Lovejoy) on their way to a weekend fishing trip. The depraved hitchhiker Myers is determined to make his victims suffer due to his childhood abuse and begins a cat and mouse game with the duo that turns into a tense hunt for survival in the heat of southern California. Actress Ida Lupino ("On Dangerous Ground," "The Big Knife") went behind the director's chair for THE HITCH-HIKER, and turned in one of the most intense and acclaimed exercises in suspense to ever come out of Hollywood.  (1953)
