Great Waldo Pepper

Robert Redford stars as The Great Waldo Pepper a young pilot back from World War I barnstorming his way across the Midwest. Taking on rival after rival Waldo meets his match in Axel (Bo Svenson) an air-show promoter. Together with acrobatic Mary Beth (Susan Saradon) they take air showmanship to great heights. Eventually landing in Hollywood as a stunt pilot Waldo finally meets up with the legendary German pilot Ernst Kessler (Bo Brundin) leading to a climatic airborne fight to the finish.
