A Depression-Era Georgia farmer obsesses with the notion that his grandfather buried gold on his land during the Civil War. So while he spends the next 15 years digging for it (and not farming), his family life begins to disintegrate in this dramedy based on Erskine Caldwell's novel Forbidden Love in the Hot Georgia Sun.
