Glass Slipper

Leslie Caron, whose portrayals of graceful gamines set aglow Gigi, An American in Paris and Daddy Long Legs, dons Cinderellas fabled footwear for this dance-and-fantasy-infused retelling of the fairy tale. Reunited with her Lili director Charles Walters and screenwriter Helen Deutsch, Caron moves from sooty drudge to radiant belle of the ball with pluck, resourcefulness and the aid of a loopy and larcenous fairy godmother (the delightful Estelle Winwood). Cinderellas transformation is everything a young girls heart could desire.
