Gay USA: Snapshots Of 1970s LGBT Resistance

This brace of in-the-moment documentaries chronicling gay liberation in '70s America leads off with Arthur J. Bressan, Jr.'s feature "Gay USA" (1977) interspersing testimony from across the LGBT spectrum and from straight allies, as well as the pushback against Anita Bryant and her campaign. Also included are Lilli Vincenz's "Gay and Proud" (1970), Sharon Hayes and Kate Millett's "Gay Power" (1971), Ronald Chase's "Parade" (1972), and Wakefield Poole's "Freedom Day Parade" (1974).
