Brash, high-spirited William Haines takes the helm in a snappy action-comedy about an ex-sailor with a nifty boat-engine design who talks his way into a job with a millionaire shipbuilder, constructs his dream speedboat on the millionaires dime and in his spare time, wins the love of his bosss daughter. Filmed on location on Catalina Island, Fast Life finishes a winner with a wave-churning, thrills-and-spills boat race. Funnyman Cliff Ukulele Ike Edwards (later the voice of Jiminy Cricket) comes along for the ride as Sandys jittery sidekick.
