Donna Reed- Academy Award winner for From Here to Eternity and famous as Mary Bailey in It’s a Wonderful Life, established the image of the first American TV-sweetheart in the Classic Family Sitcom, The Donna Reed Show.
Donna Reed’s husband and Producer Tony Owen created the family where she played dream-housewife Donna Stone, with Carl Betz as her pediatrician husband, and Shelley Fabares and Paul Petersen as their children. Tony Owen helped to envision the wife which every man wanted to have, the mother that every baby-boomer wished they had, the daughter that every boy had a crush on (Shelley Fabares) and the heartthrob son that girls fell in love with (Paul Petersen).
