Desperadoes

Steve Upton (Randolph Scott, The Tall T) is a devoted lawman who tries to keep order in the small town of Red Valley, Utah. While he's away, the bank is robbed, having been secretly masterminded by corrupt banker Stanley Clayton and the livery stable's boss, "Uncle Willie" McLeod, and with the help of ruthless gunman Jack Lester, who shoots three innocent men. When Cheyenne Rogers, an old friend with a criminal past, rides into town he becomes the number one suspect as Lester turns the town against him revealing his outlaw past. Cheyenne is rounded up and sentenced to hang and it's up to Steve to prove Cheyenne's innocence. (1943)
