A touching film about a mother and daughter's turbulent relationship, and the importance of family during times of great difficulty.

A depiction of ethnic animosity toward two women of German ancestry in an old-age home in the Mazurian Lake district. Thought they are Mazurians, daughter Hilda feels Polish and her mother, Augusta, feels German. Hilda doesn't take her mother's talk of returning to their old home seriously until she wakes up one day and sees her mother packed and ready to leave. Teresa Budzisz-Krzyzanowska won the Best Actress Award at the 1992 Polish Film Festival in Gdynia. (1991)
