Champion is the true story of Korean boxer Kim Duk-koo. Born into poverty, Kim turned to boxing and embraced the sport in the late '70s. He quickly shot through the boxing ranks and was dubbed by the WBA as the world's #1 Lightweight contender.

His fight against Champion Ray 'Boom Boom' Mancini was held in an arena outside of Caesar's Palace on November 14, 1982 and ultimately ended in tragedy. A moving and powerful film showing how a dream and personal drive allowed a man to fight to the top.
