Breathless

Set in a London hospital in 1961 - when Britain was on the brink of cultural revolution, when abortion was illegal, and the contraceptive pill was relatively new - Breathless follows the lives of a group of doctors and nurses working in a busy OB/GYN unit, in which everything and everyone has their place. But underneath the shiny veneer simmers a cauldron of lies, deception, and guilty secrets driven by love, ambition, and sex. Otto Powell (Jack Davenport, Smash, Coupling) is a brilliant and charismatic surgeon, who passionately believes he can make a difference in women's lives. His marriage to the elegant Elizabeth (Natasha Little, Any Human Heart) appears to be idyllic - but Otto and Elizabeth are hiding a devastating secret, an event in their past which could shatter the careful illusion they have created. Davenport leads an impressive ensemble cast featuring Iain Glen (Game of Thrones, Downton Abbey), Zoe Boyle (Downton Abbey), Catherine Steadman (The Tudors), and Joanna Page (Love Actually).
