Baboona
"Blazing a new trail of exploration and discovery, Mr. and Mrs. Martin Johnson, pioneers of the unknown, take to the air for their latest African safari"
The world-famous explorers, Martin and Osa Johnson, chronicle their dangerous aerial expedition from South Africa to Egypt in this historic film. Between 1933-34, the Johnsons undertook a 60,000 mile "Flying Safari" in two massive Sikorsky amphibian airplanes. While on their journey, they take the first-ever aerial pictures of Africa's two tallest peaks, Mt. Kilimanjaro and Mt. Kenya, encounter a massive stampede of jungle animals, and get to know a tribe of pygmies. Mrs. Johnson risks her life when she gets up close and personal with a pride of lions. The trip concludes with amazing scenes set in a baboon colony that earned the film its name. Baboona was reissued in 1937 under the title Bride of the Beast.
