AK-47: Kalashnikov

Wounded on the Eastern Front in 1941, young tank commander and natural tinkerer Mikhail Kalashnikov (Yuriy Borisov) wanted more than to sit on the sidelines. Hearing fellow soldiers complain about their weaponry, he sought to develop a light and reliable rifle-and he'd spend the war years and beyond jousting with established Soviet engineers until the AK-47 became the Red Army's weapon of choice.
